TESTIMONIALS

The success of our Ranney SAT, ACT, ISEE, ERB test prep classes and AP subject private tutoring and college admissions consulting business is built on our success with every single student we teach and our record of choice college admissions. This is what some of our Ranney School students and parents through out Monmouth and Ocean County had to say about WaveLength tutoring and test prep:

Huge help -Whitney

I had a really good experience. Matt and Marlee are the bomb. The english class was a huge help to me. Math was a little difficult for me and I don’t feel like I learned as much, but I’m slower with math so I just need more test time. The techniques and tips I learned from Marlee will really help me to understand the questions better while saving time! THANKS GUYS! Love,

History SAT subject test prep - WaveLength SAT tutoring + test prep

Wanted to let you know that my son Justin had an excellent experience with both Kevin Francolini and Daniel Sozomenu. Kevin prepped Justin for the US History SAT subject test and Daniel prepped him for the SAT. Justin worked with Daniel over about a 9 month period. Daniel was very accommodating with his schedule, worked effectively with Justin, and we saw a big improvement in Justin's scores. We plan to work with Daniel again for our other children. Thank you.

Tests SAT prep tutoring Middletown - WaveLength tutoring + test prep

My experience with Wavelength was great overall. Not only did I see an increase in my score, but I actually enjoyed going to the after school classes. The program teaches some different and eye-opening techniques that help make the problems much more approachable. The insight that I gained with Wavelength’s classes and private tutoring helped me increase my score by 230 points. While starting out in the classroom, I quickly learned that the tutors are extremely dedicated and qualified. They not only have a comprehensive understanding of the SAT, but also a gift for working with young adults. Their group can relate to students well. Knowing that each student is different, they set aside time one on one to figure out the individual problems that the students face. The tutors get to know each student on a personal level, allowing them to draw connections to how they think about the SAT problems, with how they face problems in the real world. On the English side, I learned how to find the right answer with more accuracy and simplicity, while simultaneously cutting down the time it takes to do so. In Math, I was taught how to break down the tests into sections and how to find the most direct route to the correct response. All of it required much practice and hard work, but I was so thrilled with my Wavelength experience, that once the classes ended, I continued with private tutoring in Math to increase my score. Applying to some of the best and most competitive undergraduate business schools in the country, I knew that I needed to have a high math score in order to be accepted. And I knew exactly who to call. Matt, having had me in the class before, understood my obstacles. We delved deeper to figure out how to receive the score I needed. Matt discovered that my problems were all mental, and worked with me as a coach would. We spent hours, often overtime, to increase my speed, build confidence, and approach each problem with the Wavelength strategy that significantly increased accuracy. I could really feel how he was rooting for me and truly cared about my success. After much practice, my math score increased by an additional 100 points, helping me land a spot at my number one school choice. For that, I will be forever grateful. Most SAT tutors drill students with problems and lectures, teaching all of the vocabulary, grammar, and math that is needed on the SAT. With that said, however, students taking the SAT have already learned most of what is on the test. Everyone needs a refresher, so Wavelength of course provides that, but it is mostly about strategy and practice. If a student puts the work in that the program demands, he or she can expect an excellent outcome.

Admissions consultant - WaveLength SAT tutoring + test prep - Monmouth

This letter is in reference to WaveLength Tutoring and Test Prep. My Name is Suzanne Citron, My husband and I have lived in New Jersey for 16 years. We have two children who attend Ranney School in Tinton Falls. Our daughter, Kyra is currently in the 8th grade. She has been at Ranney School since she was three. Our journey with WaveLength started when our daughter returned from a school trip over the summer. Ranney School offered the middle school students an opportunity to travel to England for three weeks. They would stay at Charterhouse, just outside of London. On August 1st, Kyra asked us about her options for high school. We were under the impression that she would remain at Ranney School, as she truly loved her community and enjoyed her friends and faculty at Ranney. She explained to us that she wanted to apply to boarding school. NOW THE FUN BEGINS! Needless to say, we were not prepared for what was ahead. After a few nights of research, we discovered that Kyra would be required to take the SSAT and achieve in the 2100+ range in order to even be considered an applicant for the schools of her choice. With only four short months, we had to start the process of test prep and applications. Thankfully, we found Marlee and Matt. From the start, I knew that these two people could really help us. They each scheduled a meeting to meet with Kyra and assess her needs. They determined that Kyra would need four hours per week with Matt and two hours per week with Marlee. They were patient with Kyra and helped her to focus on the task areas at hand and not just the test as a whole. They both assigned homework to keep her continuing her work during the week and not loose momentum. After six weeks, Kyra too the test for the first time in October. Her grades were solid, with a 2100 and was in the 76%, but we knew Kyra could do better. After a review of the test outcome, Matt focused on test strategy. Matt found that Kyra typically made careless errors. He spent great amounts of time showing her the flow of the test. He explained strategies for Kyra to remember during the exam, “if the question seems too easy and you are half way through the section - check it again - you may be wrong.” Just by using Matt’s simple reminder, Kyra learned to really focus on the test questions and not just the test as a whole. Marlee had determined that we really needed to increase vocabulary. We bought SAT prep flash cards and Kyra started to memorize words. Poor Kyra was in the throws of 8th grade at Ranney, prepping with Matt and Marlee and now learning over 300 new words! But Kyra’s attitude stayed positive because Matt and Marlee were always upbeat and energetic. They kept her calm and focused. After six more weeks of test prep, Kyra took the test again in December. Marlee had bought Kyra a stuffed animal of a lamb for good luck! Kyra loves lambs, so to have Marlee give her one really gave Kyra a boost! I am proud to say that Kyra achieved a 2176 and is in the 89%. She is exactly were she needs to be for the schools she is focused on. Matt and Marlee were instrumental in this process. They gave support to Kyra as well as her parents. They took the time to teach, but also gave a great deal of time in discussion with us. They would go over Kyra’s needs and let us know where to focus. Without Matt and Marlee, we would never have been able to prep Kyra to this level. They were flexible with times and dates and both genuinely cared about Kyra. Matt and Marlee not only wanted Kyra to do well, but wanted Kyra to think she did well. They were her cheerleaders. Matt and Marlee gave her the knowledge for the exam and the confidence to succeed. I would also like to add that during all this test prep, not only did she achieve her goals, but also we have seen a marked improvement in her grades at school. Thanks to WaveLength, she is a straight “A” student! When it comes time for us to have SAT prep, I know who I am calling. Do you? If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely,

Classified SAT prep - WaveLength SAT tutoring + test prep - Deal NJ

Marlee Napurano and Matthew Makrinos have changed my life. I always classified myself as a hard working student, but I never saw myself as smart. It was not until I met Matt and Marlee did I realize my capabilities. The SAT is a funny thing. It is a test given to us on one Saturday morning where we are expected to perform at our best for four hours straight and yield a score of four perfect numbers- talk about a pressure cooker. My struggle with the SAT was not the material on the test itself, but with the mindset I brought to the test. I would enter the test room and think of my future and not the test before me. This mentality caused my scores to serve as a poor reflection of my comprehension of the material. I took out my frustration by forcing myself to take practice tests every week and sometimes twice in one week. Marlee and Matt are not only the most interesting, impressive, intelligent, and inspirational people I have ever met, but also the most insightful. Matt and Marlee soon recognized my inefficient study habits. My way of absorbing information had hurt me rather than helped me. I had to re-evaluate and change who I was and how I learned. This was no small feat. I can honestly state that without Matt and Marlee I would not be the scholar or the person I am today. I learn because I am curious and not because I need a 2400 (although it would be nice). Wavelength never failed to remind me of the bigger picture- my life and all of the tremendous things I would accomplish. Without their constant encouragement and support to guide me through not only this SAT process, but also my educational career I would not be the confident, smart, and empowered young woman that I am today. Yes, Wavelength is a phenomenal tutoring and test prep program. That is evident with my 370-point jump on my SATs and a score I am so proud of, but Wavelength gives one so much more than that. Marlee and Matt have provided me with lessons and ways of approaching not only the test but also life, which I will always carry with me. Sincerely,

Grateful -Citron

Although the official decision day is tomorrow.... NOAH GOT INTO EXETER TODAY! Legacies that were rejected and waitlisted found out on Friday. Accepted legacies found out today. SAT classes Ranney -Haney

I completely underestimated how awesome and helpful these SAT classes would be, especially where math is concerned (just because I’m already pretty solid in english). Thank you so much Matt and Marlee! I’m really bad at writing these things, but suffice to say that you guys have definitely been a positive thing in my life.
