Great results -Mazza

Wonderful experience. We used WaveLength for our eldest daughter's SATs and our son's high school admissions test. We had great results. We have recommended them to numerous friends and family members and they have also had great results with their test scores and high school entrance exams. We look forward to working with them again when the time comes for our youngest child. Matt is sincere and caring, motivating and energetic. He works with the students on their own level. What a pleasurable experience!!!!!

Excellent SAT -Zabarsky

I strongly believe that WaveLength was an excellent SAT prep class that will help to improve my score on the SAT. The group setting and adept teachers made the class more lively and informational.

Awesome tricks -Fisher

This class was an amazing opportunity and really helped me prepare for all the obstacles of the SAT. From the beginning of the class, to the end I learned awesome tricks and strategies to help me succeed on the SAT. My practice test scores dramatically went up from my PSAT scores, and overall I feel extremely prepared for the test. Thank you Marlee and Matt for teaching me and helping me succeed.

Note -McVey

Just a quick note from me and Kenneth to you both for the SAT course you offered. Kenneth was able to improve from a 1250 to a 1400 after your assistance. He went from a 580 to a 690 in the reading portion of the exam. He also improved from 670 to 710 on the math portion of the test.

We are still evaluating whether Kenneth will take the SAT again or perhaps some of the subject specific tests. We will certainly be in touch if he requires any assistance.

Either way I will see you in the future as Kenneth has 3 younger siblings.

Thank you

Tim McVey

I feel like this class definitely helped me improve my scores. The main thing that I learned was how the approach on how to take the tests. Overall, I think the class was great.

Ocean SAT test habits -Vacarro

This class introduced me into changing my SAT test habits and improved me from my previous PSAT score. I’m very happy how much I improved. Throughout the class I was introduced to what I should do while taking the test.

SAT shortcuts -Purcell

The WaveLength tutors here are two of the smartest people I've met. Matt broke up the problems so well and made shorter steps for each test. Marlee gave great SAT shortcuts as well. I was always bad at the Critical Reading section. I scored a 400 on that part of the PSAT. Now after learning, I went up to a 610. I never thought I could ever break a 600. I've learned ways to take shorter steps in problems. Also, I have learned ways to tackle grammar better and know now what to look for. The last 6-weeks I've learned so much and feel 100% ready for the test. Thank you!

Test scores -Stout

Overall, I loved WaveLength and think it has definitely taught me how to score better on the SAT. Marlee was very helpful, insightful, and friendly, as well as Matt. I learned how to take the SAT more efficiently and how to break down the test to make it easier to understand. "The Skinny" and the rest of their in-class tips help me improve my practice test scores and hopefully my real score. I recommended this class to my friends who are looking to take an SAT class because I believe it really does help.

Smart -Roberts

Marlee Napurano and Matthew Makrinos have changed my life. I always classified myself as a hard working student, but I never saw myself as smart. It was not until I met Matt and Marlee did I realize my capabilities.

The SAT is a funny thing. It is a test given to us on one Saturday morning where we are expected to perform at our best for four hours straight and yield a score of four perfect numbers- talk about a pressure cooker. My struggle with the SAT was not the material on the test itself, but with the mindset I brought to the test. I would enter the test room and think of my future and not the test before me. This mentality caused my scores to serve as a poor reflection of my comprehension of the material. I took out my frustration by forcing myself to take practice tests every week and sometimes twice in one week.

Marlee and Matt are not only the most interesting, impressive, intelligent, and inspirational people I have ever met, but also the most insightful. Matt and Marlee soon recognized my inefficient study habits. My way of absorbing information had hurt me rather than helped me. I had to re-evaluate and change who I was and how I learned. This was no small feat.

I can honestly state that without Matt and Marlee I would not be the scholar or the person I am today. I learn because I am curious and not because I need a 2400 (although it would be nice). Wavelength never failed to remind me of the bigger picture- my life and all of the tremendous things I would accomplish. Without their constant encouragement and support to guide me through not only this SAT process, but also my educational career I would not be the confident, smart, and empowered young woman that I am today.

Yes, Wavelength is a phenomenal tutoring and test prep program. That is evident with my 370-point jump on my SATs and a score I am so proud of, but Wavelength gives one so much more than that. Marlee and Matt have provided me with lessons and ways of approaching not only the test but also life, which I will always carry with me.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Roberts, The Ranney School 2015, University of Pennsylvania 2019 Deal, Ocean Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07723

Math tutoring -Poniros

Coming into WaveLength, Critical Reading on the SAT was my weakest point. Although I am still not as strong in this area as Math and Writing my confidence level has grown drastically. My scores went up in this area and they will continue to rise with all the advice I have received. On another hand, before coming to WaveLength, I never believed that math could be done the way Matt does it. He completely changed the way I look at the Math section of the SAT and taught me how to begin doing math like him.

Honor Roll -Marsden

January 30, 2015

As you know Luke's "year" for geometry ended this week. He took his geometry final and got a 90 on the exam. Yes a 90. Last semester he got a 71 on his midterm. We are so proud of him.

A lot of this obviously has to do with the help of Tosin. Tosin joined our family at the start of Luke's third marking period. Luke was struggling with math and it was his only class holding him back from making honor roll.

Tosin would come over once a week and work closely with Luke. Tosin has a similar personality like Luke. Somewhat quiet, laid-back and kind yet confident. They were a perfect match for each other. I would sit in another room and listen. As time went on I could hear them connecting more. Luke started to take off in geometry and it helped him with chemistry as well.

Luke's confidence with schoolwork changed. By that, I mean study habits. He became more aware of "doing well" all around and not giving up. Because of this, Luke made honor roll again this marking period.

Thank you for all your support. I know I would welcome back Tosin anytime and use your agency again.

All the best!

Teaching fundamentals -Seo

Before entering Wavelength I made numerous silly mistakes and answered questions randomly. Both teachers have helped me reduce mistakes and be more accurate. Ms. Goldman helped me in math by teaching fundamentals and tactics to getting questions right. Mr. Sozomenu helped with grammar, reading comp, and essays. Overall, I've learned a good amount about the SAT. I am pleased to have entered this program.

Students -Rogers

To whom it may concern,

I am going to be frank with you, WaveLength has changed my life. It’s not that they somehow made me smarter, Matt and Marlee simply helped me recognize my full potential; and I know, for a fact, that they can do the same for you. The tutors at WaveLength approach their job with a passion and a dedication that you could never imagine; they aim to not only have their students succeed on the SAT but to prosper in all aspects of their academia. Their methods have increased my SAT score by over 300 points and gave me the confidence to not just get above a 700 on every section but to expect an 800.

The tutors work one-on-one with their pupils to help them understand both their strengths and weaknesses, and they teach them how to capitalize on both. With conviction, I can say that Marlee and Matt knew me as well as I do by the end of our weeks together. Every tutor will become a teacher, a friend, and a role model for their students; and they will see them succeed. They will expect more out of you than you ever deemed possible and you will find, with a little bit of work, that the impossible has in fact always been possible.

This is no gimmick. My name is Taylor Rogers and I am a high school senior. Next year, I will be attending Yale University on a full NROTC scholarship. With the help of the tutors at WaveLength I was able to beat the SAT and to submit a college application not to be reckoned with. I still wake up every morning and pinch myself because I am living my dream, and I know that you can be living yours. I leave you with every conceivable recommendation to work with WaveLength, it is worth every single cent and so much more.

Sincerely,

Academic goals -Rogers

As parents we want the best for our children and agonize over decisions that impact their education and shape their future. The college application process is the pinnacle of parental and student angst. But what if I told you that it doesn’t have to be and can actually be stress free and enjoyable for you and your child? Or that the SAT’s and other standardized testing can be mastered and your student will come to view these tests as a competition between themselves and the test makers? Sounds crazy, right? Well it’s not. I can honestly say through personal experience with my son and his friends that it is all possible with the help and guidance of WaveLength tutoring.

WaveLength tutors are professional, reliable, knowledgeable and extremely dedicated to the success of your child. The instructors got to know each students strengths and weaknesses through laid back conversations which enabled them to customize their individual programs. The tutor’s enthusiasm for the material made each session interesting and stimulating and left the students wanting for more. I was most impressed by their encouragement to the students to expand their preconceived notions of themselves and their abilities. It gave each of them the confidence to do extremely well on the standardized testing and to also reevaluate their college application choices to include their dream schools as attainable goals.

I wholeheartedly support and recommend Wavelength’s techniques, strategies and approach to the SAT’s and college application process. The company and instructors far exceeded all my expectations. I truly believe that if your student puts in the work that Wavelength’s program requires then they will be successful in their academic pursuits. My son and his friends are living proof and were all accepted to their number one school choices. As for my son, I am proud to say he was accepted early action to Yale College. He was also the recipient of an academic ROTC scholarship from the US Navy which provides 4 years full tuition and enables him to graduate Yale as an officer in the US Navy. I am eternally grateful for the guidance and support that Wavelength provided during my son’s journey in accomplishing his academic goals and dreams.

Sincerely,

Infamous duo -Guss

I could write about my WaveLength experience for hours, days, weeks, and so on. This test prep program opened my eyes to new perspectives on the SAT test. Before starting the 6 week program, I bit my nails if anyone dared to speak about the SATs. Now my mentality has been altered drastically. I know I am capable of being a beast on test day... thanks to the infamous duo: Matt and Marlee. I cannot thank them enough for enabling me to see how well I will be able to beat this test.
Sarah Guss , MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science and Technology, MAST 2015 Wayside, Ocean Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07712

Helped -Naqvi

Taking this SAT class really helped me a lot. I now know so much more about the SAT than I did before. Both Marlee and Matt are amazing teachers and are really good at what they do! Over the course of these past six weeks, I've learned so much about the test, how it is scored, what skills it tests, etc. I think the guidance I needed for the SAT I got because of Wavelength.

Now I know what I should do to raise my score! :)

Ocean Twp SAT class -Lo

When class first started, I thought it would be mainly taking practice tests over and over again. Instead it was more going over what the SAT likes to cover most. I thought it was much better than my expectation.
Rebekah Lo, Ranney School 2017, Ocean Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07712

Approach SAT problems -Castano

Wavelength tutoring goes above and beyond what typical prep companies teach and instills lessons and thoughts that can be applied beyond the testing center. Last year I managed to help a scientist crystallize a mitochondrial protein complex known as MTERF4-NSUN4, which plays a role in ribosome biogenesis in the mitochondria. This work led to a publication in the scientific journal Structure, in which I was named a co-author on the paper.

When college decisions came back, my parents and I were ecstatic. I was accepted into Rutgers UniversityBoston CollegeEmory UniversityUniversity of VirginiaWilliams CollegeNorthwestern UniversityJohns Hopkins UniversityDuke UniversityBrown UniversityColumbia University, and Yale University.

Matt and Marlee taught me more than just how to take a test. They taught me how to approach a problem from different angles, and how to use a variety of different techniques and ideas to solve it. The value of this approach cannot be measured. Sometimes the answer to a question is not found within a textbook, but is built through the use of a thousand different ideas that are used in combination with one another to create a unique and powerful solution.

Excel SAT -Nitis

Dear Matt Makrinos,

I'm writing to you to express my deepest thanks for helping my daughter Barbara, to excel on her SAT exam. You did a fabulous job with her. She improved her scores in both Math and Verbal sections. Your teachings are proven to be effective and enjoyable. I hope you continue to inspire teenagers with your teachings because you are an asset to them.

Thanks again,
Aspa Nitis, Ocean Township High School Oakhurst, Ocean Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07755

High expectations -Maiden

I had a wonderful experience with WaveLength. The SAT Math class was very one-on-one, and I learned how to think about the SAT in a way I could not have learned through a book alone. Matt was extremely knowledgeable about the SAT and was a great teacher overall. The class was challenging in that we were always expected to perform at our best, but Matt’s high expectations of us were what made me improve so much. My first SAT Math score from after the class was a 720. I finished with an 800! I would definitely recommend WaveLength tutoring to anyone looking to learn how to not just gain points, but how to really know the SAT and how to be prepared for every question on the test.

Test prep choice -Shapiro

WaveLength is an excellent test prep choice. Sessions are productive and Kelli is more relaxed. Daniel is excellent! Very professional.
