Grammar Monmouth County -Ahmad

I was happy that I understood what I learned. I learned a lot things. I learned anologies, sentence completions, and grammar. I learned new words starting with "A"! The lunch was my favorite part. Andrea never closed the windows and I got cold. The pizza was always on time.
Fatima Ahmad, Brick, Ocean County, NJ

ISEE tests Monmouth County -Goins

I definitely learned a lot more strategies to the SSATs and ISEE tests, like sentence completions and analogies. I also like that Andrea is friendly and gives us independence and Daniel gives us extra saucy pizza.

Ocean SAT tutors -Rogers

To whom it may concern,

I am going to be frank with you, WaveLength has changed my life. It’s not that they somehow made me smarter, Matt and Marlee simply helped me recognize my full potential; and I know, for a fact, that they can do the same for you. The tutors at WaveLength approach their job with a passion and a dedication that you could never imagine; they aim to not only have their students succeed on the SAT but to prosper in all aspects of their academia. Their methods have increased my SAT score by over 300 points and gave me the confidence to not just get above a 700 on every section but to expect an 800.

The tutors work one-on-one with their pupils to help them understand both their strengths and weaknesses, and they teach them how to capitalize on both. With conviction, I can say that Marlee and Matt knew me as well as I do by the end of our weeks together. Every tutor will become a teacher, a friend, and a role model for their students; and they will see them succeed. They will expect more out of you than you ever deemed possible and you will find, with a little bit of work, that the impossible has in fact always been possible.

This is no gimmick. My name is Taylor Rogers and I am a high school senior. Next year, I will be attending Yale University on a full NROTC scholarship. With the help of the tutors at WaveLength I was able to beat the SAT and to submit a college application not to be reckoned with. I still wake up every morning and pinch myself because I am living my dream, and I know that you can be living yours. I leave you with every conceivable recommendation to work with WaveLength, it is worth every single cent and so much more.

Sincerely,
Taylor Rogers, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, MAST 2013, Yale College 2017 Wayside, Ocean Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07712

Test prep program Monmouth County -Guss

I could write about my WaveLength experience for hours, days, weeks, and so on. This test prep program opened my eyes to new perspectives on the SAT test. Before starting the 6 week program, I bit my nails if anyone dared to speak about the SATs. Now my mentality has ben altered drastically. I know I am capable of being a beast on test day... thanks to the infamous duo: Matt and Marlee. I cannot thank them enough for enabling me to see how well I will be able to beat this test.
Sarah Guss, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, MAST 2015 Wayside, Ocean Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07712

Mathematics section -Sabatini

My experience with WaveLength SAT Tutoring was very worthwhile. I chose to get help from Matt with the mathematics section of the SAT and saw a significant improvement in my score. With his help, I was able to raise my score from a 660 to a 760. He taught me how to look at problems differently and how to pull the necessary information from the clutter.

I find that this skill he helped me develop has was useful on the test, but is also relevant in all facets of life. One special thing about my experience with WaveLength is that I genuinely looked forward to the sessions. It was not a chore to study, it was an opportunity to relax and discuss problem-solving.

With Matt's help, I was accepted to all of the schools to which I applied: The United States Naval Academy, The United States Coast Guard Academy, The Merchant Marine Academy, The University of PennsylvaniaVillanova, and Rutgers.

Grammatical errors -Vaidyaselvan

Although I expected to learn more about how to write the essay, I learned more about how to identify grammatical errors and to respond to reading comprehension questions with the maximum amount of accuracy. I was able to review concepts that I already knew in preparation for the SAT. I also felt that I learned a lot of things that I did not already know, as well.
Shruthi Vaidyaselvan, MCVSD, Biotechnology High School 2016 Marlboro, Monmouth County, NJ 07746

MCVSD entrance exam -Griffeth

Daniel was my daughter's tutor for the Monmouth County Vocational School District MCVSD entrance exam. Her goal was to attend Biotechnology High School and we wanted her to have some preparation before she took the exam. All in all, it was money very well spent - not only did my daughter score very well on the exam, she went into it with a plan and new found confidence.

Daniel's knowledge of the test was comprehensive. His style is relaxed and confident. He pinpoints the gaps in a student’s knowledge without harm and highlights their best attributes in order to build self-assurance. I highly recommend Daniel and look forward to working with him in the future, as my son wants to join his sister at Biotech.

Standardized testing -Rogers

As parents we want the best for our children and agonize over decisions that impact their education and shape their future. The college application process is the pinnacle of parental and student angst. But what if I told you that it doesn’t have to be and can actually be stress free and enjoyable for you and your child? Or that the SAT’s and other standardized testing can be mastered and your student will come to view these tests as a competition between themselves and the test makers? Sounds crazy, right? Well it’s not. I can honestly say through personal experience with my son and his friends that it is all possible with the help and guidance of Wavelength tutoring.

WaveLength tutors are professional, reliable, knowledgeable and extremely dedicated to the success of your child. The instructors got to know each students strengths and weaknesses through laid back conversations which enabled them to customize their individual programs. The tutor’s enthusiasm for the material made each session interesting and stimulating and left the students wanting for more. I was most impressed by their encouragement to the students to expand their preconceived notions of themselves and their abilities. It gave each of them the confidence to do extremely well on the standardized testing and to also reevaluate their college application choices to include their dream schools as attainable goals.

I wholeheartedly support and recommend Wavelength’s techniques, strategies and approach to the SAT’s and college application process. The company and instructors far exceeded all my expectations. I truly believe that if your student puts in the work that Wavelength’s program requires then they will be successful in their academic pursuits. My son and his friends are living proof and were all accepted to their number one school choices. As for my son, I am proud to say he was accepted early action to Yale College. He was also the recipient of an academic ROTC scholarship from the US Navy which provides 4 years full tuition and enables him to graduate Yale as an officer in the US Navy. I am eternally grateful for the guidance and support that Wavelength provided during my son’s journey in accomplishing his academic goals and dreams.

Sincerely,
Kimberly Rogers, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, MAST Wayside, Ocean Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07712

Tinton Falls SAT cram class -Battaglia

I thought the cram class was very informative. I wish it was a little longer so we could have spent a little more time discussing each type of test. I am now more confident going into the test for the first time. Thank you for the help!
Sydney Battaglia, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science and Technology, MAST 2017 Tinton Falls, Monmouth County, NJ 07724

Middletown SAT prep class -McKeever

I definitely learned more from this class. Now I know what to expect on the SAT, what there is that would trip me up, as well as some useful tips. During the practice tests I learned where I need improvement and where I am strongest. Now I can concentrate on my weak points (such as grid-ins) and make them stronger, and shore up where I am already strong. I feel Matt + Marlee were both very helpful.
Brendan McKeever, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science and Technology, MAST 2015 Middletown, Monmouth County, NJ 07748

Solving problems -Failla

Marlee-
She definitely knows English really well and makes it fun. She knows many tricks to break down and solve problems which helps a lot.
Matt-
While he knows his math he is really good at logic which helps when solving problems . I learned a lot about solving problems and Math itself.
SAT classes seem like a boring thing but both of them made it fun.
Jacqueline Failla, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science and Technology, MAST 2015 Aberdeen, Monmouth County, NJ 07747

SAT Math class -Maiden

I had a wonderful experience with WaveLength. The SAT Math class was very one-on-one, and I learned how to think about the SAT in a way I could not have learned through a book alone. Matt was extremely knowledgeable about the SAT and was a great teacher overall. The class was challenging in that we were always expected to perform at our best, but Matt’s high expectations of us were what made me improve so much. My first SAT Math score from after the class was a 720. I finished with an 800! I would definitely recommend WaveLength tutoring to anyone looking to learn how to not just gain points, but how to really know the SAT and how to be prepared for every question on the test.
Alice Maiden, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science and Technology, MAST 2015, Princeton University 2019 Ocean Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07712

SAT prep program -Hanlon

I learned a lot from WaveLength Tutoring's SAT Prep Program. The way Marlee and Matt taught the program was very different from a standard SAT class and told us how the SAT is designed to trick us and how to get the last laugh against it. I thought their method of teaching was very helpful. They gave us many different tips to use to our strength, like getting a question down to two choices or how the answers to word choices go from easiest to hardest and how to use that to our advantage.

I thought the program was very informative, and based on the before and after scores proved that their teaching ideas really worked. I would certainly recommend taking their course to anyone looking to learn about the SAT/improve their overall scores.
Tom Hanlon, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, MAST 2015 Spring Lake Heights, Monmouth County, NJ 07762

Test prep -Castano

Wavelength tutoring goes above and beyond what typical test prep companies teach and instills lessons and thoughts that can be applied beyond the testing center. Last year I managed to help a scientist crystallize a mitochondrial protein complex known as MTERF4-NSUN4, which plays a role in ribosome biogenesis in the mitochondria. This work led to a publication in the scientific journal Structure, in which I was named a co-author on the paper.

When college decisions came back, my parents and I were ecstatic. I was accepted into Rutgers UniversityBoston CollegeEmory UniversityUniversity of VirginiaWilliams CollegeNorthwestern UniversityJohns Hopkins UniversityDuke UniversityBrown UniversityColumbia University, and Yale University.

Matt and Marlee taught me more than just how to take a test. They taught me how to approach a problem from different angles, and how to use a variety of different techniques and ideas to solve it. The value of this approach cannot be measured. Sometimes the answer to a question is not found within a textbook, but is built through the use of a thousand different ideas that are used in combination with one another to create a unique and powerful solution.
Steve Castano, MCVSD, Academy of Allied Health & Science 2013, Yale University 2017 Ocean Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07712

Monmouth County Verbal class -Lyons

I wish all of my high school teachers were as kind, committed, and intelligent as Matt and Marlee. I not only feel like I learned a lot, but also was involved and connected which is key for learning. I felt comfortable and that all of the material was easy to learn.

In the Math class, I learned new ways to solve problems and to make the harder problems easier and quicker, which will definitely help me reach my goal of an 800. In the Verbal class, I learned how to tackle vocab questions, how to approach reading passages, and how to find grammar mistakes more easily. My goal was to bring up my reading score but I am confident I will be able to bring up my essay and writing scores as well. No complaints :-)
Michael Lyons, MCVSD, High Technology High School 2016 Manasquan, Monmouth County, NJ

SAT strategies -McDonough

Marlee was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and informative. I have learned a lot through her guidance. I learned how to structure and write essays for the SAT, as well as how to prepare support for the essay. In addition, I learned many sat strategies for answering Reading and Writing questions. My vocabulary was greatly expanded, and my knowledge of grammar has grown as well. My Writing score on the SAT went up 80 points after my tutoring!
Thank you!! : )

College admissions process -Murphy

I was more than impressed with my experience with WaveLength. My teacher was extremely knowledgable on the subject of the SAT as well as the college admissions process. The class provided me with a methodical process of approaching SAT questions and essays. After I took the class, I felt much more comfortable taking the SAT and saw significant improvement in my scores. Overall, I believe I truly benefited from the WaveLength class.

SAT reading -Abate

Marlee was an incredibly knowledgeable teacher. She not only taught us ways to ace SAT Reading and Writing questions, but also enabled us to think like the test makers do in regards to questions being literal, Critical Reading passages being disectable, and many other things. Furthermore, Marlee taught invaluable writing and grammar skills not usually discussed in school.
Adam Abate, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, MAST 2015 Millstone Township, Monmouth County, NJ 08510

Essay -Grant

Reading – has helped me recognize grammatical patterns that allow me to find issues within a sentence. Taught me to read stories much faster and extrapolate the most important details from them. Helped in the orderly structure of my essay as well as the expectation for my essay by the audience. Teacher is very knowledgeable respectful and fun.

Math – has been extremely useful in terms of speeding up problem time and breaking down the question to simpler terms. Teacher is respectful, knowledgeable, and fun. Has also contributed to my comprehension skills on questions.

Noah Grant, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, MAST 2015 Middletown, NJ 07748

Applying -Hanson

I cannot say enough about WaveLength tutoring. I would recommend this to every child applying to college, regardless of the type of test one will take. Marlee and Matt incorporate humor into strategies that can be implemented on any test. My vocabulary has significantly increased and I've been taught how to decipher the SAT truly for what it is, the two tutors have made it so much easier to calmly take an exam.
Jack Hanson, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, MAST 2016 Middletown, Monmouth County, NJ 07748

Math SAT teacher -Karthikeyan

The math SAT teacher, Andrea, was better than I expected. I thought she would just re-teach me everything I already knew and make it seem harder than it was, but it turned out that I learned new tricks for the SATs. The English teacher, Daniel helped me improve in grammar and critical reading. He provided useful tips to make the SAT easier and I learned a lot, including better vocab and time management.
Rishi Karthikeyan, MCVSD, Communications High School 2017 Manalapan, Monmouth County, NJ 07726

SAT preparation -Beal

Through WaveLength SAT preparation, I’ve learned a lot. My math tutor, Matt, was a very good tutor. I’ve learned a lot of important material that will be used on the SAT. One major lesson I learned was that no matter how difficult a problem may look, it could be simplified into a much easier problem. I also learned how to look at problems in a different way to get the solution quicker, which is a very important tactic for the SAT.

Marlee, my English tutor, was very good as well. She taught us a lot in terms of what is really needed on the SAT. I learned a whole lot of necessary vocabulary, how to write an essay that is quick and to the point, and how to make reading comprehension much more simplified. Marlee and Matt, while teaching a lot, also made their lessons fun. Taking this SAT prep class will help a lot on the test. It’ll change my future!
Matthew Beal, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, MAST 2016 Little Silver, Monmouth County, NJ 07739

Vocabulary SAT -Kodama

Verbal – the skeleton was the best "trick" which I learned. The skeleton helps me to focus on only the main ideas of the passages I also now know to always be literal when selecting my answer choices. Always making sure I am literal helps me with my critical reading and vocabulary sections.

Math - I learned to approach the math section by treating it like a critical reading section. What helped me the most was writing down the question that was being asked so that I would not answer a different question or not fully answer a question.
Sam Kodama, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, MAST 2016 Shrewsbury, NJ 07702

Math scores -Cabana

Math- I liked the class a lot. Matt was a very good teacher and he always kept the class interesting. My math scores definitely improved a great amount after the second SAT, and I look forward to taking the test my junior and senior years.

Verbal – this class was very good as well. Marlee is down to earth and really knows how to point out the critical things about the SAT itself. I will miss both classes as both of them have taught me in valuable information that will definitely help me in the future.
Jan-Luka Cabana, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science & Technology, MAST 2015 Long Branch, NJ 07740

Tips Tricks SAT -Koh

The course was quite informative. The tutors provided "tips and tricks" that would make taking the SATs a bit easier. While taking this course I saw an immediate score increase on the first practice test compared to last PSAT that I took in the fall. Most of all, the best thing that I got out of this course was gaining the mentality to constantly improve my SAT/prepare for my SATs even when this course will be over. The tutors were very friendly and approachable.
Matthew Koh, MCVSD, Marine Academy of Science and Technology, MAST 2016 Rumson, Monmouth County, NJ 07760

Reading and Science ACT -Rademacher

I like how class is adapted to fit the needs of each student. Also, I think the grammar rules, Skinny packet, and Reading and Science steps are great tools and are very beneficial. Overall I learned a lot and I love the idea of puppy breaks!

Prep companies -DeSanctis

Dear Marlee,

I just wanted to thank you for all the work you did with Grace in preparing her for the reading/writing sections on the SAT. Grace's scores on these 2 sections prior to working with you were 610 in reading and 640 in writing, which were very good scores but she was an A student at High Tech High School and she felt she needed to do better to have any chance of being accepted into any of the top colleges in the country. After working for a total of 7 sessions that lasted 2 hours each her scores jumped to a 740 in reading and 720 in writing.

That is an amazing accomplishment and we couldn't be more proud of her. Grace is our youngest so we have had experience with other SAT prep companies before finding yours and I can say without a doubt that working with you was by far the best experience.

You were able to tailor her classes to the areas that she needed help in rather than following a set plan so there was no wasted time. Classes were scheduled around her free time and with playing High School in addition to club soccer that was a challenge. She didn't need to sit through Math review courses that she didn't need simply because that was the way other companies ran their review courses. We were able to choose only reading/writing, however if she had needed math help I know your company also offered that option. I highly recommend Wavelength SAT to anyone considering SAT tutoring!
Joanne DeSanctis, MCVSD, High Technlogy High School, Class of 2015 Middletown, Monmouth County, NJ 07748

Test prep curriculum -Paz

The small class group and consistent test prep curriculum are extremely beneficial. The atmosphere at the classes is comfortable. The class is challenging in the best possible way. No matter what level you are you will learn so many new things that extend even past SATs. It takes the SAT from a big bad monster to something you're comfortable with and know how to attack. I have learned the value of being prepared while taking these classes. Things totally foreign to you will become mastered by the end.
Sandra Paz, MCVSD, Marine Acdemy of Science and Technology, MAST 2016 Little Silver, Monmouth County, NJ 07739

SAT results -Meberg

Dear Marlee,

Kevin was brimming with confidence when I dropped him off for the SAT and I know that your class was a big reason for it. Wow! I can’t believe how far he has come in the past six weeks. Like most Juniors, Kevin is fully aware of the high stakes and ramifications attached to the SAT. Needless to say, this brought on a great deal of anxiety and apprehension for him. Thankfully, you and Matt both did an incredible job inspiring and motivating Kevin. He thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the class. Not only did you alleviate a lot of Kevin’s stress and concerns, Wavelength’s wonderful approach to learning trickled over to Kevin’s schoolwork. His GPA has gone up 3 points!

Thank you! I have a feeling that Kevin will be happy with his SAT results. Regardless of his scores, we will not have any regrets because Kevin and I know that he could not have been better prepared for the SAT. What more could a parent or student hope for? My husband and I have always tried to teach our children to only worry about what they can control. Kevin knows that he studied his hardest and, as parents, we know that the only shame would be to look back and wonder if we did everything in our power to help him succeed. After our experience with Wavelength, we have no doubts!

Stay tuned! I will send you his results as soon as they are available. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. We are so appreciative of both you and Matt and all of the work you have done.

Sincerely,
Peggy Meberg, MCVSD, Communications High School 2017 Wall Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07719

Individual SAT private lessons NJ -Scott

My name is Brian Scott and my Daughter Olivia worked with Daniel in late 2015 early 2016 for SAT prep. While we only had 2 sessions, one each in front of the Dec and Feb tests, the impact was substantial.

Olivia is high performing and Daniel was quick to evaluate just where she needed guidance, mostly around strategy but also with some specific targeted practice and tips in Math and Writing.

Livi earned a 2100 on the first try and jumped to 2300 on the second. I'm sure much of that jump was due to Daniels evaluation of her results and guidance on adjustments.

It's refreshing to see someone who is so dedicated to evaluating and guiding each student based on their individual needs strengths and weaknesses, and does not just apply a cookie cutter one size fits all approach.

Daniel's knowledge of the college admission process and how schools evaluate results was an added bonus. Daniel was a pleasure to work with and we will be sure to recommend him to friends and use him again when it's our sons turn to take the tests.

Thank you for your service and dedicated staff and please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Brian D. Scott, Monmouth County Vocational School District, MCVSD, Academy of Allied Health & Science 2017 Wall Township, Monmouth County, NJ 07719

Chill -Paradiso

Really eye-opening. I learned a lot of stuff that I think will help me while taking the SAT. The class was not what I expected, but that's good. I thought it would be like Kumon or something like that. I enjoyed the class environment and you guys are really cool and chill. I like all of the techniques that you taught us. I now feel a lot more confident about taking the test. I like the classroom and the whole atmosphere it creates.

RE: WAVELENGTH TUTORING AND TEST PREP, L.L.C.

I have known Matthew Makrinos and Marlee Napurano for over three years and have found their scholastic aptitude, teaching skills and acumen with the regards to the evaluation and management of the deficiency of students' educational background and the rectification of the same beyond reproach.

I wholeheartedly support their technique and strategies and believe that any student under their tutelage is bound to be successful with regards to academic pursuits.

Please let me know if I can provide you with any additional information.
